What is "Life Place"? ~The philosophy that Greenwich values~

In Greenwich, a place that fulfills your soul is called a "Life Place."
This is an important message that we want to convey through our interior design, born from a certain experience of our representative, Imada.

This time, Imada himself looks back on a certain experience that led him to the idea of "Life Place."

A turning point in his life: his time as a company employee and salesman

When I was working as an advertising salesman, I was so busy that I had to work late into the night and go to drinking parties every day, and I only went home to sleep. On my days off, I was either sleeping, preparing for work, or hanging out with friends... My work was fulfilling, but what about my private life? I spent my days thinking like this.

But I think it was just right for me when I was young. The reason I wanted to work at this company was because I wanted to improve my skills. It wasn't just about earning an easy living, but I always worked with the thought, "I want to gain strength and become an independent person."
Looking back now, I think I was searching for a sustainable way of life that was true to myself , one that would not be affected by changes in the times and society such as the rise of AI and the COVID-19 pandemic.

So, in my daily mindset, I wanted to acquire the ability to gather knowledge and persuasiveness to convince others of the value, the charm to attract people, and the ability to be trusted, rather than just techniques to increase sales. Because I had that goal, I was able to take on some tough situations in a positive way, thinking of them as "a part of my social studies," and I was able to take on various challenges proactively by utilizing the company.

It took time because I didn't want to rely solely on techniques, but little by little I gained strength and was able to produce sales figures that far exceeded the company's expectations. I had more opportunities to be recognized by my colleagues, seniors, and the programming and production teams, and the more I worked, the better my results became. Although I felt a sense of discomfort at the fact that I was now somewhat equipped with "selling techniques," I was able to take on new areas of work. However, I gradually began to lean toward the way of working of "selling with techniques," which I had originally avoided.

"Should I really continue this way...?"

Rather than worries about the work being hard or having no private life, I began to wonder, "Is this job leading to the future I want?"

Encounter with a vintage table

It was at that time that I came across a certain vintage table.

One day off, I bought a vintage table on a whim to turn a room that was previously just a place to sleep and eat. Then, I started to think, "I want to put some indirect lighting in the corner by the wall," "I want to have a potted plant by the window," "I want to organize my books on a shelf," and "I want to get a coffee cup that I really love." Gradually, the room began to create a living environment that was uniquely my own .

This also helped me to calm my mind; for example, I began to notice the beauty of flowers by the roadside, I was able to understand other people's feelings and my relationships improved, and I enjoyed staying up late into the night thinking about how to propose things to my clients that would make them smile. My inner self has clearly changed .

The importance of creating an environment

These changes in his personal life led him to realize that "the environment in which we live each day shapes who we are," which later led him to found Greenwich.
Looking back, it seems that this was something I had unconsciously been practicing in my work.

The reason I wanted to work at Recruit was because I wanted to develop the human skills to become independent. I thought that Recruit was a company that would help me develop the innate "power" I have and provide an environment where I could utilize it to the fullest .

Even back then, it was an elite company that attracted people with relatively high skills and abilities. I was blessed with the opportunity to communicate with such wonderful colleagues, seniors, superiors, and clients, so I felt that by making the most of the environment I was given and working hard, with the feeling that I was "getting paid to learn," I realized that I was getting a little closer to becoming a person who is recognized by those around me.

If we create the right environment and utilize it effectively, we can maximize human capabilities. People can awaken their innate abilities.

With this one vintage table as a starting point, I was able to realize once again that "the environment shapes the person." At the same time, I realized that even a relatively small trigger like "incorporating a vintage table" can lead to changes in the environment and the inner self.

To spread the word about the importance of creating a good environment to our customers. To propose services and products that allow our customers to actually experience this. We want to provide our customers with a place where they can feel the richness of their inner selves .

This sentiment is embodied in the phrase "Life Place," which is at the core of our company.
