Decorate your walls to create a comfortable space

Walls take up a large area in a home.
With the increase in online meetings, more and more people are wanting to make the wall in the background look beautiful .

In Scandinavia, which has a deep connection with Greenwich, walls are effectively utilized, shelves are installed to expand storage space,
It is full of ideas for creating a comfortable space that suits your style, such as decorating with posters and accessories.

So this time, we'll be introducing some ideas for coordinating and putting together a wall decor theme.
Now that we are spending more time at home, both for work and for personal reasons, we would like to suggest ways to create a comfortable space using walls.

Learning from Scandinavia: Creating a space that is uniquely yours using walls

Thomas Bille, who lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, expresses his individuality by decorating the walls with posters and magazine racks. As he says, "A space that looks like it's a direct copy of a famous magazine page doesn't feel hygge," the walls are used to the fullest in a space that is full of Thomas's individuality. Tina Hensen, who runs a kindergarten and nursery school in Copenhagen, has created an impressive spot using the wall. She has used part of the wall to create a spot that reflects her "attention to detail," including lighting, which she says is "essential for a hygge space," and items made of solid wood with a nice texture. Line Stanpe Dahl lives with her husband and two children, ages 4 and 6. "It's important to have both space to be alone and space to gather with a large group," says Line. "Decorating the walls" coordination ideas

Idea 1: "It's like painting a picture on a large canvas."

We treated the entire wall as a large canvas and coordinated it as if we were painting a picture.
If you don't have any interior decorations on your walls and have some space to spare, or if you have some but don't know what to do with it, be sure to check out this article.

❶ First, decide on the main piece of furniture. This time, we will use the FDB Möbler Bookshelf A88 (bottom right of image) as the centerpiece.

❷ Attach the ``FDB Möbler | Book case'' to the wall at the same height as the book shelf.
Aligning the horizontal and vertical lines between different pieces of furniture next to each other will create order and unity in the space.

❸ Above that, two ``FDB Möbler | Book cases'' of different depths are attached parallel to the wall.
The different depths also create a sense of depth and contrast when viewed from different angles.

❹ Place a poster above the bookshelf in ❶ as a focal point (a place to focus the eye). Using items in the same color or tone will create a sense of unity and make it easier to organize.

❺ Place the wall clock at eye level or slightly above eye level. Placing it higher than other interior items will add definition to the space.

6. To create depth and a three-dimensional effect in the space, hang the pendant lamp at a slightly lower position.
By placing it on top of the side table, it won't get in the way when you sit in a chair.

❼ Keep in mind the triangular composition of clocks, lighting, small items on shelves, etc.
This will create a balanced space.

Idea 2: "An online meeting space that lets you express yourself."

We thought about how to coordinate a wall as a background for online meetings that would express our individuality.
With the increase in remote work, many people are participating in online meetings from home. You can change the background image or blur it, but I hope this article will be helpful for those who want to decorate the wall and create their own meeting background .

- Since people are the main focus in online meetings, the key is to make sure that the interior decor only peeks out slightly from the side or top of the screen, with some space left so that it doesn't overlap people too much.

- Be conscious of the asymmetry of your interior décor. Doing so will create rhythm in the space while adding just the right amount of accent.

・For interiors that can be seen from above, the wall-mounted storage "String Pocket" (top left of image) is perfect. You can express your "likes" with small items and books displayed on the shelves, or decorate with seasonal flowers to create a background that lets you feel the four seasons. Also, by adding hooks, you can vary the items you display and expand the storage area, so it is recommended.

- For interiors that will be peeking in from the side, we recommend potted plants, which can easily add a touch of glamour.

- Place large potted plants on the floor. For small potted plants or vases, use the String Museum Side Table (bottom left of image) to add height.

The appeal of wall-mounted storage displays is that they can be easily rearranged. You can freely change the items you display to suit your mood or the occasion.
Here are some ideas to help you always work in a comfortable space.
