Danish furniture choices

Choosing furniture is a big concern for Danes.
That's because we spend a lot of time at home and with that furniture.
And because it is something that expresses one's individuality, one takes time to search carefully.
I visit shops multiple times to gather information.

When you visit a Danish home, you are often given a guided tour of the interior of the room.
Furniture, lighting, accessories...
They provide a detailed explanation of each item they own, and it is clear that they have carefully selected each item.

The reasons for their choices vary, from furniture that they spent a long time acquiring to pieces of furniture that they inherited from their parents, but it is clear that they have chosen pieces that suit them best.

When it comes to furniture, I choose pieces that can be passed down for generations rather than those that are trendy.
Young people may purchase affordable mass-produced furniture, but this is only a temporary trend, and they would like to save money and buy good quality furniture in the future.
The space is created based on the simple criteria of choosing the right furniture for the right place.

As time goes by, lifestyles change too.
Your family may grow, you may move, or you may get bored with the things you use.
In times like these, items that hold sentimental value are passed down rather than thrown away, by being given to someone else or sold at a flea market.
The criterion for choosing furniture is whether it will retain its value for a long time.

"Being true to yourself" and "something that has long-lasting value" were both non-negotiable conditions.
That's why Danes take their time when choosing their furniture.
And they will become a partner that you will want to introduce to others.
