March shipment of vintage furniture has arrived

Hello, this is Fukuda from Greenwich Daikanyama.
The warm sunlight is starting to make us feel the arrival of spring. More and more people are walking around Daikanyama without their jackets on.

This month we have a lot of vintage furniture in stock, including classic chairs by Arne Votter and Alfred Christensen.

Scandinavian vintage furniture now in stock!

Alfred Christensen Dining Chair "No.370 boomerang" R602D102A

This chair was designed by Alfred Christensen in the 1960s. It seems that he is not a designer whose furniture remains very modern, but this chair is modern because of its shape, which is similar to the "boomerang chair". But it is loved by many people.

The Boomerang Chair is beautiful no matter where you look at it, and the rounded wood that makes you want to touch it is one of its most distinctive features. The wooden frame is made of luxuriously carved teak wood, giving the chair an elegant feel.

It is also extremely simply made, and when you look at its structure there are some parts that look unsettling, but when you sit on it you feel a mysterious sense of stability and as if you are being wrapped up in it.

The fabric is made from Uld Stripe 9 by Danish Art Weaving, a long-established Danish fabric brand.

We currently have two of these pieces on display at our Daikanyama store, so if you're looking to purchase a dining set, please consider them.

Arne Vodder Dining Chair R602D103A

Next is a work by Arne Votter, who is famous for having studied under Finn Juhl, the master of Danish furniture design.

He designed many pieces of furniture for Sibast Furniture, synonymous with Scandinavian Danish furniture, and Fritz Hansen, and created many pieces of furniture that were loved by many celebrities, including former US President Jimmy Carter, whose chairs were used by him. After he became famous, he is said to have gained popularity especially in the American market.

In 1956 he designed furniture for Kippole Dinesen at the Copenhagen Furniture Exhibition, playing a crucial role in modern Danish furniture.

The floating feeling of the seat and the overall organic form are reminiscent of Finn Juhl's designs. When you sit down, you feel a sense of security as if your whole bottom is being wrapped up.

Nest Table R602D118

Lastly, we have the Anonymous nesting tables. Although they are works by Anonymous, they are beautifully designed with detailed construction and smooth curves.

The word "nest" in "Nest Table" is an English word meaning a nest or a place to live . Perhaps the name "Nest Table" was chosen to evoke the impression of birds going deeper and deeper into the product and then returning to their nests.

The wood used is teak, it is in good condition and a convenient size.

Size (mm) Large: W600 D380 H510
