「ハンティングロッジ」をテーマに開催されたコペンハーゲン家具職人ギルド展で発表された「BM1160 HUNTING TABLE」。
丸みを帯びた木部、ほぞ継ぎやくさびなど職人技を感じられ、モーエンセンのこだわりの詰まったテーブルとなっています。

美しく無駄のないシルエット

ハンティングテーブルは、モーエンセンのデザインに共通する「装飾をできるだけそぎ落とした構造」と「優れた耐久性」を体現したテーブルの1つです。
空間に馴染むようなシンプルなシルエットと安定性を与える真鍮製の支柱、さらに天板の丸みやくさびなどの職人技といったモーエンセンの家具作りへのこだわりが詰まった作品となっています。

Borge Mogensen(ボーエ・モーエンセン)

1914年デンマーク西部の都市オールボー生まれ、デンマーク王立アカデミー建築家でコーア・クリントに師事し 彼の助手としてデザインを学び、マイスターの資格を得る。
同い年で親友のウェグナーとは時に協力し商品を作ったり、競い合うなど、公私ともに非常に親交が深かった。

1942年からはFDB(デンマーク生活協同組合家具部門)のプロダクトデザインマネージャーとして活動し、「庶民の為の家具を造ってほしい」というFDBからの依頼を受け、簡素なデザインとペーパーコードによる座面という 家具の知識がなくても組み立てができる代表作であるJ39をデザインし、人々に職を確保させるという形でこの依頼を達成した。

1950年にFDBを退職、その後も自身の事務所を構え、FDBで培ったアメリカのシェーカー教の家具をリ・デザインした直線的で力強い家具を数多く制作している。特にストレージ系の家具に関しては多くデザインし、model145やキャビネットなどが数多く生産されている。

代表作に『J39』『ハンティングチェア』『スパニッシュチェア』などがある。
